DO I NEED TO HAVE PLAYED FALLOUT TO JOIN?
Nope! I've tried to cover everything you need to know about the setting here, so you should be able to join and enjoy without any problems!
CAN MY CHARACTER BE FROM SOMEWHERE YOU HAVEN'T MENTIONED?
Yep! The world of Fallout is huge, aaaand this group is set 100 years after the start of Fallout 4, so there's loads of space for the evolution of lore, new settlements, you name it! You're always welcome to brainstorm and check if your ideas are okay - 99% of the time it'll be totally cool!
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SOLE SURVIVOR? (FO4, POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR THE GAME)
In this universe, the Sole Survivor didn't survive very long! When their infant son was taken by the Institute, instead of being returned to cryogenic stasis as a spare/ backup subject, the Institute instructed that life support not be reactivated for any of the subjects, and they all perished shortly after.
CAN MY CHARACTER BE A NON-SYNTH ROBOT?
That's not currently an option for first characters, but there will be the chance to unlock both extra character slots, and different types of characters, including things like more sentient Mr. Handy bots!
WHAT SPECIES/ RACE CAN I BE?
'Smoothskins'/ unmutated humans, ghouls and synths are all available! There are all variety of folks in the Commonwealth.
CAN I BE A RAIDER/ MINUTEMAN/ ETC?
While your character can certainly have their leanings, they can't be officially affiliated... yet!
ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL LORE, XYZ CAN'T HAPPEN/ STILL EXIST...
Well, I have made the executive decision to ignore that part of the lore because it's stinky.
WILL THIS SETTING BE EXTENDED TO COVER OTHER AREAS, LIKE THE CAPITAL WASTELAND?
Yes, potentially! It's likely something I'll look at as an event to open the areas up later down the line.
