Quincy and the Southern Commonwealth

The areas south of the greater Boston neighborhoods, aside from the Glowing Sea, can be considered part of the Southern Commonwealth. Along rivers and treacherous marshlands, this region is the location of both West Roxbury and Jamaica Plains, two townships overrun with feral ghouls and avoided by most all wastelanders. To the southeast is Quincy, which, like most of this zone, is under Gunner control. Some of the most dangerous areas in the entire Commonwealth include the coastal areas past Quincy and the strange ruins of Spectacle Island.

QUINCY

Once a town occupied by the Commonwealth Minutemen, Quincy was later sieged by the Gunners after one of the Minutemen betrayed his own, leading to the Quincy Massacre around 100 years ago. The abandoned town was repurposed as a Gunner fortress.

SPECTACLE ISLAND

Spectacle Island is an island on the coast southeast of Boston, and was once home to an eccentric millionaire with dreams of his own private island paradise. After the Great War, the original settlers on the island had constructer a basic settlement that was capable of repulsing mirelurks; however, these settlers were reportedly wiped out by something around 60 years ago, and the island has been host only to death ever since - or so they say.
